Cogent Releases Version 2.0 of CogentQC.NET

The official release date of Version 2.0 of CogentQC.NET is January 1, 2010.  You can find a list of new features on our website.  On the cusp of the new decade, we are well on the way to upgrading all clients to our next generation CogentQC.NET platform.  Though some clients have gone by the wayside in the recent crisis, others have merged into larger entities and emerged stronger and better positioned for the future.  These larger clients are actively seeking enterprise-level solutions that can consolidate data from different departments to provide a coherent picture of their mortgage operations.  The architecture of CogentQC.Net makes it easier to address this need.  Later in 2010, we will announce new functionality geared towards automating the exchange of data between disparate systems and vendors.  If you have not already done so, we urge you to upgrade – free! – to CogentQC.NET.  It’s the right choice for a new QC and compliance era.

Cogent Launches a Blog
Our new blog, dubbed “Return on Quality” is part of our ongoing effort to continuously improve mortgage quality control.  Here, we’ll be talking about a lot more than just Cogent QC Systems.  The topics so far have included the use of statistics in mortgage QC (of course), changes in the regulatory compliance landscape, data visualization and information design.  We hope you’ll be part of the conversation.

Cogent Publishes HAMP Best Practices Article in Servicing Management Magazine

Many thanks to our ServicingQC system clients, who shared with us their best practices for working with the Obama Administration’s HAMP program.   The outcome was an article that ran in the December 2009 issue of Servicing Management magazine.  You can find a PDF version of the article on our website.  We’ll have more to say about HAMP on our blog, and we look forward to your comments.

Cogent Commended for Lasting Impact on Mortgage Industry
In announcing its annual Tech Awards at the Mortgage Banker’s Association Annual Convention, Mortgage Technology magazine’s editors cited Cogent for “pioneering the use of statistical sampling [in mortgage quality control] to replace the straight 10% random sample with a calculated statistical random sample, which could be 1% or less of a lender’s origination volume, resulting in a 90% reduction in costs.”  More information about the awards can be found here as well as on our new blog, (the very first post).
